UPDATE: 9 p.m. – A vehicle accident Thursday afternoon east of Meadville caused injuries for a driver from Linneus.

Highway Patrol responded to Route 36, 1.5 miles from Meadville at Crow Drive, where Douglas Hale, 45, was ejected from a vehicle that was struck by a semi. Troopers say Hale’s vehicle failed to yield to traffic on 36 and drove into the path of the truck.

Hale was flown to University Hospital with moderate injuries.

MEADVILLE, MO – A vehicle accident on Route 36, reportedly involving a semi and jeep, is hindering traffic near Meadville.

Initial reports suggest the accident happened around 4 p.m. Thursday.  Highway Patrol confirmed the accident and indicated at least one lane of Hwy 36 may be shut down.

There is no official confirmation of injuries so far from officials.
