UPDATE: (2/27/16 12:25 p.m.) Mike Stokes with the U.S. Marshal’s office has confirmed the arrest of Todd A. Guier.
According to Stokes, Guier, age 39, was served a federal indictment from the Jackson County Drug Task Force in December of 2013 for a charge of conspiring to distribute cocaine. Stokes said, “Guier had the opportunity to turn himself in but has been on the run since the indictment was served.”
Stokes said a search warrant was served by the U.S. Marshal’s office this morning at the Florence Hotel in Brunswick, which led to Guier’s arrest. Stokes also reported that Guier’s girlfriend is the owner of the hotel.
Stokes stated the U.S. Marshal’s office was assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in the two year search and subsequent capture of Guier, who will be facing one count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine, five counts of distribution/possession of cocaine, as well as two firearm violations. Guier will be tried in Kansas City on a later date.
