UPDATE: (09/26/16) 5:55 p.m. — The Missouri Highway Patrol has confirmed that the ramp on the eastbound side at the Higginsville Junction is back open.
UPDATE: (09/26/16) 4:50 p.m. — The Missouri Highway Patrol has confirmed that both lanes are back open, however the ramp on the eastbound side to get to 50 Highway at the Higginsville Junction is still closed. 
UPDATE: (09/26/16) 1:22 p.m. – eastbound I-70 remains closed in Lafayette County. Eastbound traffic is being diverted onto Route O at the 41 mile marker north to US 24 for traffic to continue east traffic may also go south on Route M to US 50 to continue east.
The investigation indicates a tractor-trailer traveled off the main portion of the highway and struck a parked tractor-trailer on the shoulder. No injuries were reported.

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo. – The Mo. State Highway Patrol has confirmed a motor vehicle accident on I-70 eastbound at Route H at the 45 mile marker in Lafayette County.

Traffic is being diverted off of eastbound I-70 on to the North Outer Road of I-70. The scene is approximately 4 miles to the west of the Higginsville Junction or Highway 13 interchange.

There’s no word on injuries at this time or the number of vehicles involved, but I-70 eastbound traffic is blocked at Route H at the 45 mile marker with traffic being diverted onto the North Outer Road.
