The North Central Missouri Regional Airport in Brookfield will host their annual fly-in event on Saturday. Tarpening said free Young Eagles Rides are a part of the day’s festivities. “It’s open to ages eight to 17,” said Tarpening, “A parent or guardian does have to be present to sign a release form in order for the children to ride. We will also have some static airplane displays, aerobatic demonstrations, and both Marceline and Brookfield fire departments with have some equipment out there.”
This year’s event does include a special ceremony. “At 11:00, there will be a dedication ceremony for our runway extension and there will be some dignitaries speaking,” said Tarpening, “They will also have powered parachutes and radio-controlled aircraft, so this is going to be a little bit larger than it has been in the past.”
Breakfast will be served from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. that will consist of pancakes, sausage, coffee, and juice. The free rides will begin at 8:00 a.m.
The airport is located 2.5 miles east of Brookfield on Highway 36.
