LINN COUNTY, Mo. — Formal charges are filed against a Kansas City resident who led police in a high speed pursuit Wednesday.
According to Brookfield Police, 40-year-old Khamis Pitiya was allegedly traveling at speeds in excess of 100 mph. During a pursuit, Pitiya avoided several spike strips but was disabled inside the Macon city limits. Law enforcement observed several signs of impairment of Pitiya. Pitiya allegedly refused to comply with breath samples and police issued a warrant for a blood sample.
During the stop, officers learned Pitiya was wanted for three felony counts out of Platte County with bond totaling $30,000 cash only. Pitiya is formally charged with eight counts of felony resisting arrest or detention and two felony counts of armed criminal action.
Pitiya is held at Macon County Jail on a $100,000 cash only bond.
Additional charges are pending following the blood test.
