Press Release from the Brookfield Police Department
At approximately 11:00 a.m. this date, a white male described as mid 20’s 5-10 to 6-0 feet tall, medium build entered the Preferred Bank at the south edge of Brookfield, displayed a weapon and demanded cash from the teller line. After compliance by employees, the suspect left the bank with an undetermined amount of cash in a 1994 Chevrolet 1/2 ton full sized pick up southbound on MO Hwy 11. The vehicle was recovered a short distance away abandoned on a gravel road in the county.
No injuries were reported. Witness statements are being gathered, and the crime scene and vehicle are being processed for evidence. The Police Department is currently investigating the incident in cooperation with the FBI, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Linn County Sheriff’s Department and area surrounding Law Enforcement agencies.

The suspect’s vehicle was found abandoned south of Brookfield on Husk Road near Highway 11. Police are still searching for the suspect.

Officials are looking for a white male, 25 years-old, approximately 6 feet tall.
He was last seen wearing a paintball mask, Carhart bib overalls, and a black sweat shirt.
The suspect is driving either a black Chevy S-10 with a gray stripe or a 1994 blue Chevy half-ton pickup, with a gray stripe, and no license plates.
The truck was last seen heading south on Highway 11.
A KMZU listener thinks the suspect might have switched vehicles. He is considered armed and dangerous.
