NEW ORLEANS (AP) – The Big Ten has had a terrible bowl season, losing all five games played on New Year’s Day. Three of those defeats came against teams from the SEC, and tonight Ohio State looks to break the losing streak with a game against the SEC’s Arkansas Razorbacks in the Sugar Bowl.
The sixth-ranked Buckeyes have never won a bowl game against an SEC team in nine previous tries. They enter tonight’s game with a record this season of 11-and-1 while the Razorbacks are 10-and-2.
This is Arkansas’s first appearance in a BCS bowl game.
Ohio State is playing the game with star quarterback Terrelle Pryor and three other disgraced offensive starters. The four players earned suspensions for the first five games next season as NCAA-imposed punishment for selling memorabilia and getting discounts on tattoos.
