President Jones says Thursday night is the kick-off of a great weekend for the entire family. “We will have Mercies Bridge Band and this follows our royalty coronations, which starts at 6:15,” Jones said. “Our food stand opens at 5:30. And then we have an early welcome followed by the American Legion Post 57 Honor Guard, and then we have an early bird lawn chair drawing, so that will be our Thursday night entertainment.”
Friday will see music from Ricky Lee Tanner then on Saturday, it gets started early according to Jones. “At 8 a.m. is the 5 K Run sponsored by the American Legion and they’ll meet at the schoolhouse. And then at 9 o’clock the food stand opens for all day,” Jones said. “The baby show registration begins at 9 a.m. At 10 o’clock the baby shows got the different categories for that, and then the Prince and Princess is the 4 and 5-year-olds who have not attended Kindergarten. And at noon the parade lines up at the old school building.”
