The Buckner Chamber of Commerce President recently resigned from his position which sparked stories in the community about the charter and if the resignation was related to a lapse in paperwork. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott talk with chamber treasurer and secretary Stephanie Smith.
After his resignation was filed there were certain stories circulating in the community about the chamber’s charter and if it had expired a decade prior, forcing out the current president. According to Treasurer and Secretary Stephanie Smith, those stories do not add up to scandal.
Smith explains further.
The former president resigned due to conflicts between his schedule and the needs of the chamber.
A new election of executive board members will be held Saturday June 1st and the decision of filing new paperwork should be made by the end of June.
