CHILLICOTHE, Mo. — The Chillicothe City Council will meet for a regularly scheduled meeting Monday evening.

According to a tentative agenda released Friday, the meeting will be preceded by a council workshop.

During the regular meeting, the council will hear presentation and approval of invoices and payroll as well as municipal utilities invoices and salaries. Council will then consider ordinances accepting bids for street improvements, chip and seal projects and street equipment.

Another proposed ordinance will be brought forward regarding the purchase of radios for police and fire officials.

Mayor Reed Dupy will lead discussion regarding the purchase of signs dedicating the City of Chillicothe as a Purple Heart City before council considers becoming a member of the Houston-Galveston area Council procurement service (H-GACBuy). An agreement with Lochner will also be considered finalizing the design and bidding process for the airport runway project.

A number of other ordinances will then be considered, including one which would amend a contract between the city and Main Street Chillicothe for the inclusion of maintenance of landscaping in downtown Chillicothe.

A new section of city code will be added which would amend the duties of city administrator, a position currently held by Darin Chappell, regarding the hiring and firing of city personnel.

Comments from the public, city administrator, mayor and councilors will be heard before the council moves to a closed, executive session.

The Chillicothe City Council is slated to meet for a workshop at 5:30 p.m. Monday, with a regular meeting following at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Chillicothe City Hall.
