BATES COUNTY, Mo. – A man from Butler has waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday on a burglary and felony drug
charge in Bates County.
Robert S. Fletcher, 40, was charged after a homeowner on Mechanic Street, reported his shed had been broken into in February of 2018. Officers found a burnt candle and backpack left in the shed by the intruder. A search of the backpack revealed substances that later tested positive for methamphetamine and marijuana. An EBT card in Fletcher’s name was also found in the backpack.
Arraignment will take place in circuit court on January 23rd.
