A cow sculpture, created purely out of about 500 pounds of butter will make its debut at the Missouri State Fair this year. Click to hear KMZU’s Bob Allen talk with Sedalia Artist Janice Hargrave.
The masterpiece will be featured at the Gerken Dairy Building during the fair. Rodin’s famous art piece “The Thinker” inspired Hargrave to create the “Thinking Butter Cow.” The cow was created in 5 days, in a freezer using clay and sculpting tools. The butter used for the project was donated by the Midwest Dairy Association. This is the 2nd year Hargrave has created a masterpiece made purely out of butter for the fair. Last year she created a Jersey cow with a friendly, comical expression.
