Caldwell County residents will have a library to call their own. Click here to hear KMZU’s Chelsea Wade interview Library Board president Sandra Leamer.

Sandra Leamer

The new library, located in the former County Health Building in Kingston, opens its doors for the first time Saturday. Leamer says it wouldn’t have been possible without donations from the community. The library will operate for two years on charitable contributions and after two years, the board hopes to put a tax levee on the ballot to fully fund the facility.

According to Leamer, the library plans to expand services to include computer training for the elderly and genealogy courses.

The library opens Saturday morning at 9:30. The regular summer hours for the library are as follows:
Mondays from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m – 1:00 p.m.
Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
