CALIFORNIA, MO – Warrants issued Thursday were acquired after law enforcement responded to the Eagle Stop in California, Missouri, making contact with two persons suspected of methamphetamine possession.

Moniteau County deputies assisted police in approaching two subjects in a vehicle, identified as Jonathan McCarty, 37, of California, and Tamara Deroo, 20, of Versailles. After consent to search the vehicle was denied by the occupants, a canine unit was deployed to obtain cause. Deputies allegedly seized methamphetamine, pills, and scales.

McCarty and Deroo were both incarcerated in lieu of $25,000 bond, each. They are each charged with three felony counts of controlled substance possession.
