CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. — Two people suffered serious injuries in a crash in Camden County late Thursday night.

The Highway Patrol responded to Chelsie Road at Woodhaven Circle around 11:40 p.m. Thursday to reports of a crash involving a single motor vehicle.

A crash report indicates that a pick-up truck operated by Jimmy L. Grimes, 23 of Sunrise Beach, was southbound when it ran off the left side of the road.

Grimes reportedly over corrected, sending the truck back across the roadway, where it ran off the opposite side and collided with an embankment.

The vehicle then rolled over, and as it overturned the cab became separated from the frame of the truck, ejecting an occupant, David M. Hansen, 21, of Gravois Mills.

Neither Grimes nor Hansen was wearing a seat belt when the crash happened, according to the report.

Both suffered serious injuries and were transferred to University Hospital in Columbia to receive care.
