RAY COUNTY, Mo. — A Camden man charged with 29 felony counts of endangering the welfare of a child was bound over at a preliminary hearing this week.
A judge in Ray County found sufficient cause to bind Mario A. Barreto, 29 over to circuit court for trial Monday morning.
Barreto and his girlfriend, Melissa Holloway, 29 are charged with the abuse of a 9-year-old victim who lived at their residence in Camden.
Bareto is accused of brutally beating the young girl repeatedly. A probable cause statement alleges he partially bit one of the victim’s fingers off.
Barreto is set to be arraigned in a Ray County courtroom at 1:30 p.m. on October 10.
