Press Release from the Cameron Police Department

On July 22, 2012, at approximately 3:39 p.m., the Cameron Communications Center received a call of a male subject that had sustained injuries to his face in the 100 block of West Third Street, Cameron, MO.

Officers arrived on scene, at approximately 3:41 p.m., and determined a 32 year old male from Cameron had sustained a gunshot wound to the face.  Officers rendered emergency medical care, along with Cameron EMS personnel, at the scene.  The male was transported to an area medical center for treatment and later transferred to a Kansas City area medical center, via air ambulance, for advanced medical care.

Cameron Patrol Officers and Crime Scene Investigators have conducted a scene investigation and collected evidence.  The investigation is on-going.

At this time, investigators do not believe any other individuals are involved in this shooting incident.  However, we are asking any person(s) who may have knowledge or information regarding this shooting incident to contact the police department at 816.632.TIPS.

Cameron PD was assisted at the scene by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Cameron EMS, and the Cameron Fire Department.

A KMZU listener reports a Cameron man has been shot.  According to the caller, the wound is on his face.  He is being transported by helicopter to Trenton.  We will bring you more information as it becomes available.
