COLUMBIA, Mo. – A Columbia Police Officer was hit by a car, while crossing a street Friday morning.

The Police Department sayspedestrian hit 4 officer Curtis Brown, 48, was crossing Walnut, south to north, at 6th Street about 9:40 yesterday. A southbound vehicle on 6th street, driven by Shannon Thomas, 45, turned left and knocked Brown to the pavement.

Brown was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
