The deadline to apply for the Carroll County Holiday Distribution program is one week away. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with YMCA Director Ben Jacobi:

Those who apply will receive groceries and some gifts near the holidays. “What we’re going to be doing for the next couple of weeks is we’re going to be hitting up local businesses in the community to see if they will help us get presents and gifts for the kids,” said Jacobi. “We’re expecting close to possibly 100 families to participate in this.”

Applications were originally due Friday, November 8th. That has been extended to Friday, November 15th. The program is open to Carroll County residents.

“It is an income-based program. We have a government chart that we base that of off. So it’s not for everybody. It’s for pretty much the families that are in need in this area. Seniors are welcomed, as well. What it will consist of is we will give out a bag full of food for all the families and seniors. And kids 18 and under will get presents and gifts.

Distribution will be held on the 13th of December.
