A health fair will be held next weekend in the Carrollton High School gymnasium. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott talk to Carroll County Memorial Hospital Chief Operating Officer Shannon Jordan:
“There will be health screenings available which include blood pressure, EKG, cardiac step test, pulmonary function, body fat analysis, pulse oximetry, and blood glucose tests,” said Jordan,” Those will all be free of charge along with a couple of others. There will also be a few reduced cost screenings. These are tests that are a little more pricey that we can’t offer for free, but we can offer at a really reduced price.” The reduced cost screenings include hemoglobin A1C, Prostate Specific Antigen, Thyroid Panel (TSH, FT4), and vitamin D.
More than 30 vendors will have booths at the event and a canned food drive will be held. For every non-perishable food item donated, individuals will receive another entry for door prizes. Those prizes include Lifestyle Fitness membership, annual physicals, mammograms, bone density scans, and more.
The health fair will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 15th.
