The Carrollton Aquatic Center closed on July 7. Its grand opening was July 3.
CARROLLTON — With COVID-19 cases in Carroll County under observation, businesses that closed for preventative measures start to reopen.
Carroll County Health Department Administrator Bertie Hartwig says that despite there being daily cases, they aren’t as many cases coming in at one time as there have been in the previous weeks.
There have been two hospitalizations, but both individuals are now at home.
Although positive cases have slowed down this week, Hartwig acknowledges that the numbers can be unpredictable.
“There’s no rhyme to it,” Hartwig says. “They seem to come in groups of who they’ve been around.
As the town of Carrollton sees numbers moderately trickle in and heat indexes rise, the new pool in Carrollton is scheduled to reopen this weekend.
Park Administrator Russ Mayden confirmed that the new Carrollton Cove Aquatic Center will be reopening to patrons on Sunday. The pool closed just one day after its grand opening due to employees testing positive for COVID-19.
“We’re cleaning now and getting things ready,” Mayden says. “That’s our plan right now and I don’t think its going to change.”
