CARROLLTON, Mo— Carrollton is hosting a family friendly event for the entire day Saturday, July 4th!
In the past, those in attendance for the Carrollton Independence Day activities and entertainment saw more of an adult atmosphere than family oriented surroundings. During an interview with KMZU’s Andy Campbell, Fire Chief Lonnie Sensenich, described his vision for the event as wanting to see kids out running and playing in water, maybe taking a tethered air balloon ride, and dancing to great live music while enjoying delicious food from one of the many vendors.
The day will kick off at 7:30 a.m. with the Farmer’s Market and Drawing give away. After the day begins, Carrollton leaders and residents have more than 15 hours of activities and entertainment planned, including bouncy houses, a car show, a BBQ cook off, pedal tractor pull, and much more. Then to end the Independence Holiday, fireworks will begin at 9:45 p.m. followed by a movie showing at 10:30 p.m.
Live entertainment will be spaced through-out the day. Musicians include: We Make Noise, Melissa Ray, Leonard Audsley Rock & Roll Revue, Gorsetts Family, and the Green River Band. The Shapes Dance and Acro team will also put on a performance in the afternoon.
