Fire Chief Curtis Shields discusses the 2012 departmental budget with the Carrollton City Council.
After a two-and-a-half hour discussion Carrollton City Council members set the budget for 2012. At the request of the council, each department head submitted a proposal for the New Year then reviewed the information with council members. Mayor Kim McCauliffe says the meeting took a while but the process was useful. The plan for the next twelve months includes a 5% cut in line items through each sector’s proposal while retaining the current payroll and benefits.
