Carrollton Band day gets underway Saturday morning. Click to hear KMZU’s Chelsea Wade speak with Carrollton Band Director David Phillips:
Up to 10,000 people attend the event each year. “As far as I know, it’s one of the biggest festivals anywhere,” said Phillips. About 60 bands are scheduled to participate in the competition. Phillips said their band will not compete, but will perform as an exhibition-only band. The parade begins at 8:30 a.m. and the field shows continue through the afternoon, with the last scheduled for 7:45 p.m. Programs will be available for sale throughout the day. All events are free to the public.
