About 125 people came out for the annual Carrollton Area Chamber of Commerce awards banquet Wednesday night. The Chamber’s Executive Director Sharon Metz feels like the evening was very successful:
According to Metz says they have been holding an event like this for over 50 years:
The Distinguished Citizen this year was Randall Barry from Barry Electric, who was cited for years of dedicated service to an extensive list of organizations.
The Chamber’s “Above and Beyond” Award was presented to Ray Carroll. David Heddings says they feel it is very important to give something back to local communities, and one big way they do so is through scholarships.
Another highlight of the Chamber banquet was the entertaining and informative presentation given by Brandon Fahrmeier from Farhmeier Vineyard. He shared the story of how his family came to be in the wine business and gave numerous tips on wine selection, along with samples for the crowd.
The Carrollton Area Chamber of Commerce now works to gear up for their Spring Fling event, coming April 18th at the Rupe Center. We’ll more more details on that event and an interview with Sharon Metz coming soon on KMZU news.
