The town of Carrollton approved a bid for 2019 street projects at a council meeting Monday evening.

An attempt to accept bids at a previous meeting stalled after confusion arose regarding specifications of the project. Those ambiguities were clarified in the newest bids for street milling and overlay, the depth of which, was not properly specified in the initial bidding process.  One contractor supplied a bid for 2-inch overlay, while others bid for 1.5 inches.  A bid was accepted for over $365,362 for the entire project. A previous list of streets had to be scaled down in re-bidding due to cost considerations. Mayor Mathis read from the list at the meeting.
