The Richmond Spartans travelled to Carrollton High School Tuesday night to face a strong Carrollton squad.

The Carrolton Trojans entered the contest with a healthy 14-2 record, however Richmond was not fazed, they entered the gymnasium at 11-6 coming off a three game win streak.

Carrollton and the Spartans traded points for a good portion of the first quarter until Richmond went up by 10 at the end of one. Richmond gave the ball up a few times in the second quarter allowing Carrollton to battle back and tie. At the half; Richmond led by just 6, 31-25.

The Spartans started the second half with two scoreless possessions, unfortunately for the Trojans, so did they. Several more turnovers and forced shots led to Richmond slowly building a lead that saw the Spartans over the Trojans 43-32 at the end of the 3rd. Carrollton was unable to catch back up and fell to the Spartans 59-44.

Richmond’s leading scorer was Reid Summers with 13, hitting three shots outside the arc. Senior Lucas Hook came up with 12 points, ten of which came in the second half. Kyle Carroll and LenDarrius Pritchard each had 10; with 9 points from Senior Trent Dial and 5 from Cody Gorham.
