Carrollton, MO — High schools from the area are joining schools around the nation by turning on their stadium lights for 20 minutes and 20 seconds. The national recognition will take place this evening, April 10, at 8:20.

The show of support is for graduating seniors, other students, and our nation as a whole who are affected by the covid-19 shutdown.

Governor Mike Parson said yesterday that all public and charter schools will not have in-person classes for the rest of the academic school year. The schools will continue to have virtual classes and their final class would likely be the original last day of the school year. Governor Parson also hoped to see senior graduations held at a later date.

The time 8:20 was picked because it is 20:20 military time.
