CARROLL COUNTY, Mo. — Formal felony and misdemeanor charges have been filed against a Carrollton man.
According to a probable cause statement, officers approached two vehicles stopped on the southbound lane of 65 Highway near the Missouri River Bridge. The statement alleges that Edward E. Arnold, 35 attempted to pass another vehicle when he struck the side of the second car.
Arnold eventually stopped and then fled from the scene on foot while the other driver called 911. Officers followed footsteps in the snow off the side of the highway to a cabin.
Arnold was found inside the structure wielding a knife.
Arnold is formally charged with felony tampering with a motor vehicle and multiple misdemeanors.
Bond is set at $75,000 cash only with conditions.
Arnold is currently in custody at Chariton County Jail.
