CARROLLTON, MO – A Carrollton man has been formally charged by the Carroll County Prosecutor’s Office following an investigation into a missing box trailer and tools stolen from a residence.
On June 12, 2017, a detective with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, was dispatched to CR 201 in reference to an abandoned box trailer the caller said was on his property. Probable cause statement indicates that the trailer along with the tools were stolen from a residence on N. Main St. in Carrollton, Mo. The estimated total value of the stolen tools was approximately $5,339.
Probable cause statement also states that the theft victim received multiple reports of his tools allegedly being sold by an individual named Edward Arnold III, 34, of Carrollton, Mo.
An arrest warrant was issued for Arnold on June 13, 2017, and he was later arrested in Excelsior Springs, Mo. with several of the tools in the back of the truck that were reported missing. Arnold is now in custody at the Ray County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
Arnold is being charged with one count of felony stealing-$750 or more. A hearing has been scheduled for June 21, 2017, at 9:00 a.m., in a Carroll County courtroom.
