The Carrollton Middle School will be hosting an open house event on Thursday evening. Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross talk to Principal Brent Dobbins:
“We’ll have a short parent meeting,”said Dobbins,” We will try to answer some frequently asked questions that parents may have especially for those going into the 4th grade. This is a big change for some of them. We’ll try to ease their tensions by giving them a presentation of information.”
The session for those entering grades 5 and 6 will run from 6:00 to 7:00. It will begin with the parent meeting, as well as filling our necessary paperwork for the new school year. Those in grades 7 and 8 will attend from 7:00 – 8:00. Those parents will have a brief meeting with their child’s seminar teacher and have a change to ask questions of teachers, counselors, and staff. There will also be time devoted to placing supplies in lockers and review class schedules.
Anyone unable to attend Thursday night’s event is asked to contact the school to make alternative arrangements.
Grades 5-6 Open House will be from 6-7 p.m. A short parent meeting in the cafeteria will be conducted for 6th grade parents from 6:00 p.m. until 6:15 p.m. A short meeting for 5th grade parents will be conducted from 6:45 until 7:00 p.m. The parent meeting will consist of a quick powerpoint presentation with grade level FAQ’s being discussed as well as a time for parents to fill out necessary paper work for the upcoming school year.
Grads 7-8 will be from 7-8 p.m. Each parent will attend a short meeting with their child’s seminar teacher to get important school information for the year in a quick power point presentation with FAQ’s for each grade level from 7:– p.m. until 7:15 p.m. and the remainder of the time parents will help students put away locker supplies and navigate the building(s) with their child and their schedule.
The Middle School’s goal is 100% attendance by our parents! Come out and see our facility and get acquainted with your child’s teacher. Refreshments will be served to all parents and students that attend.
