CARROLLTON, Mo. — Carrollton Police are seeking information in a string of crimes that took place in the 800 – 1000 block of North Main Street Sunday morning.
According to Carrollton Police Chief Robert Turner, the crimes took place during the early morning hours of August 9, 2015. A post to the department’s Facebook page indicated officers received multiple reports of vehicle break-ins and vandalism. Chief Turner confirmed his personal car was stolen from his property.
Ray County officials later received a report of a vehicle parked near an abandoned house. The vehicle was recovered and sent back to Carrollton for further investigation.
Turner said the interior of the vehicle had been vandalized and his personal weapon was taken from the car. He said the incident was part of a random string of break-ins, and did not believe it was a targeted attack. The break-ins were primarily isolated to vehicles that were left unlocked.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Carrollton Police Department at 660-542-3128.
