The Carrollton School Board has a full agenda for the Tuesday night meeting. Superintendent Judith Delaney says one item up for discussion is the consideration of random drug testing for grades 7 through 12.
“Were asking the board to put on a 30 day review.” Delaney says “that not all school districts do that but many in Missouri and around the nation do. Its really not a way to catch kids doing bad as much as it is a way to give them another reason to say no to drugs and alcohol.”
If the idea gets the go-ahead, the program would start next fall with the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year.
In other business the board will hear an update from the Security Committee and the annual report on the Career Center. The group will also revisit the idea of a baseball cooperative between the Norborne and Carrollton School Districts. The meeting will be held at 7 in the Administration Building.
