The Carrollton Police Department issued the following press release on September 18th, 2014.

PRESS RELEASE

To the citizens of the Town of Carrollton,

Under City Ordinance 1116, Section 2, Subsection N it is unlawful to “cast or throw upon on or allow to, run in or upon any street, alley, public place or sidewalk, or into any lot premise of another, any grass or other vegetation debris, or noxious or offensive substance.”

Per the orders of the Town Council, the Town of Carrollton Police Department will enforce this ordinance if officers observe a violation.

The reasoning for this ordinance is that when grass is allowed to remain in the streets it is washed into the storm sewers, clogging it.
