RAY COUNTY, Mo. – A preliminary hearing is postponed for a man accused of binding his children with zip-ties and taping them in closed boxes as punishment in Ray County.
Gary M. Wyant, 32, of Lawson, is charged with eleven felony counts of abuse or neglect of a child and one felony count each for tampering with evidence and attempting to tamper with a victim in a felony prosecution. The victims also told investigators that Wyant would grab them by the throat to carry them and used a special paddle with holes or a belt for corporal punishment.
The hearing was moved to March 22nd, at the defendants request.
