In a filing Wednesday, the lawyer for Destanie D. Batson, 23 filed a motion to continue a preliminary hearing setting next week and to change the venue of the case.

Batson was one of three area residents charged with felony counts of knowingly burning and property damage in the first degree.

Investigators say Batson, James E. Haight and Kyle J. Mace set fire to the Canadian Pacific railroad bridge over the Grand River just south of Chillicothe on October 29, 2018.

The case has been continued to January the 9, 2019. A ruling has not been handed down on the motion to change venue.
