CENTRALIA, MO. — A Centralia resident has been arrested for arson after he was seen walking away from his home, which was on fire.

According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, a fire was reported in the 11500 block of East Rodney Drive in Centralia shortly before 2:00 p.m. yesterday. Witnesses called in the fire after seeing heavy smoke coming from the residence. They also reported Jebadiah D. Romine, 36, walking away from the residence. No injures have been reported.

Soon after, officers found Romine near a local park. He was turned over to the Boone County Sherriff’s Department.

Romine has been charged with 2nd Degree Arson and is waiting bond. An investigation is still ongoing.
