Business of the year and citizen of the year will be recognized at an awards banquet Friday night. Click to hear KMZU’s Chelsea Pounds speak with Executive Director of the Marshall Chamber of Commerce Jill Murray.
Murray says the theme this year is Remembering the Past, Promoting the Future. “We will have a lot of past pictures and memorabilia set up for people to see and we’ll have a slide show.” She said, “It’s just our annual event to recognize our achievements for the year and visit with other members.”
Murray said the past year has been very successful for the Chamber. “I became Executive Director in July of last year. So, I will be focusing on our accomplishments at the banquet.” She added, “I believe we have made several positive changes.”
The 92nd annual Awards Banquet will be at 6 p.m. at the Martin Community Center. It is a members only event, and the cost is 20-dollars. The dinner will consist of beef brisket, smothered chicken breast, garlic cheese potatoes, green beans, garden salad, hot rolls, chocolate mousse, cheesecake, tea and coffee. All members must R.S.V.P. by 4 p.m.
