Press Release from the Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce
The Chillicothe Area Chamber of Commerce launched its new website last week. The new website offers a more updated view of the community for residents and visitors alike. Chamber members will have a Member Login area where they can access and update information about their own business and post job openings and special sales. The new Business Directory, accessible to all, will provide contact information, a map location and website link for each member business.
A Chillicothe Event Calendar is also new to the site. Representatives of community-wide businesses and organizations can submit events to become a part of the calendar. These events should be of broad community interest – activities or events like garage sales, in-home parties and open houses will not be considered.
“We often get calls here at our office from people who are trying to plan a community event and want to avoid conflicts with other major events; or from individuals who want to plan something that will coincide with a particular activity in town. We hope that this calendar will help provide a framework for that planning,” says Lindy Chapman, Executive Director of the Chillicothe Area Chamber of Commerce.
For those interested in planning and starting a new business, details and strategies are available. The site also has a number of links to local, regional and statewide services for small businesses. Relocation information for the Chillicothe community is accessible in the “New to Chillicothe” area of the site as well.
In addition to the calendar, visitors to the site will be able to view job listings posted by Chamber members, find links to other community organizations, look through photos of Chamber events (such as ribbon cuttings, the Annual Awards Banquet, etc.) and register for Chamber sponsored events such as Chautauqua in the Park, the Holiday Parade and monthly luncheons. Businesses wanting to join the Chamber may also enroll online. Credit card payments for all of these events will now be possible through the website.
The website home page will provide easy access to all of the Chamber’s social media sites including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
“The Chamber website is one of the main portals into the community for people seeking to relocate here, to open a business or to visit our area. We feel this new website gives our member businesses increased exposure and better reflects who we are as a Chamber and as a community,” explains Chapman.
