BOONE COUNTY, Mo. – A Columbia woman has been charged for calling in a fake hostage situation last week.

April Brashier

On Friday, April Brashier, 42, was charged in Boone County, with making a terrorist threat. Authorities alleged Brashier called Boone County Joint Communications and reported that she was being held hostage at gunpoint on Apple Tree Court.

Investigators now say that officers were at Brashier’s mothers house a mile away, attempting to serve an arrest warrant, when she called to create a diversion.
