A one-vehicle crash in Clay County Monday night, sent three people to the hospital and the driver now faces charges.

According to the highway patrol, 22-year-old Andrew Alhouse of Kansas City was northbound on Long Road at 144th Street when he failed to negotiate the curve. The vehicle ran off the roadway and overturned after striking a tree.

Alhouse was moderately injured; his passengers, 21-year-old William Iiams of Independence, sustained minor injuries and 18-year-old Kelsey Madison of Liberty suffered serious injuries. All three were transported to Liberty Hospital for treatment.

Alhouse has been charged with DWI and a moving violation; he was released to the care of the hospital.
