MEXICO, Mo. — A Mexico, Missouri man has been arrested and charged in relation to a theft in May.

According to a probable cause statement, on May 19, 207, the Mexico Police Department was called o a residence on Fairground Road in Mexico in reference to a burglary. The resident reported many items being stolen including credit cards, jewelry, cash, and prescription medication. A window was found smashed with blood on it.

Further investigation led officers to 37-year-old Steven Stone of Mexico. In Stone’s home, a checkbook belonging to the initial resident was found as well as blood on the face of the door.

Stone is facing first-degree burglary, felony stealing, and misdemeanor stealing. No court dates have been set.
