MACON COUNTY, MO – Charges may be filed as the result of an investigation by Macon Police and Missouri Highway Patrol.
According to a press release Wednesday, an officer who was reportedly struck by assailants at Macon Lake boat ramp, October 22, is no longer employed with the police department. The name of the officer was not provided. A previous information release stated the officer was knocked unconscious by a blow from behind, and was later hospitalized. Macon Police now say that officer was not assaulted, and no suspects were found during a search. The investigation is continuing.
The Macon County prosecutor is considering charges related to the matter.
