The Flanagan South Pipeline, that will run through Chariton County, has been a hot topic of discussion in that area. Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross talk with Presiding Commissioner Tony McCollum:
“I see it as a positive impact,” said McCollum,”Financially, it will help the county and increase our funds. I haven’t heard a lot of complaints about this. They’re going along some the routes that have previously had pipelines put through, so it’s not something that is suddenly new. A lot of the property owners are used to dealing with the pipeline and getting the settlements.”
The $2.8 billion project will run diagonally through Chariton County and will pass through ten other counties, as well. The exact amount of tax revenue will be unknown prior to completion.
