The 28th Annual Chautauqua in the Park also includes activities for children.  “We will have the inflatables that we’ve had the last several years, big inflatable slide and other activities, face painting, we have a new tent this year that will be focused on preschool-age activities,” said Chapman.

The fair usually draws between 5,000 and 10,000 people from all over.  Click to hear KMZU’s Chelsea Wade speak with entertainment coordinator Julie Ashbrook:

“It’s just the atmosphere of great fun, and very family-oriented event,” said Ashbrook, “And if you like to shop, you’ll find plenty to shop, and if you like to listen to the music, you’ll find that, and if you just enjoy walking through the park it’s many acres of well over 100-year-old trees.”

Chautauqua is running Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Chillicothe’s Simpson Park.
