MACON COUNTY, Mo. — A crash on 36 Highway Tuesday morning injured a man from Illinois.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported investigating a single-vehicle crash on 36 Highway about one-half mile west of Macon at roughly 8:43 a.m. Tuesday.
A car driven by Chicago, Illinois resident Matthew E. Baines, 27, was traveling east when it went off the roadway and struck a road sign. The vehicle then collided with an embankment, rolled over, crossed Sunset Drive and came to rest on its wheels.
A passenger in the car, 25-year-old Joseph D. Baines, also of Chicago, sustained moderate injuries when the vehicle overturned. He was transported by air ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia to receive care.
