RAY COUNTY, Mo. – A defendant was bound over to circuit court Friday, after waiving his preliminary hearing in Ray County Associate Circuit Court.
According to casenet, Gary M. Wyant, 32, of Lawson, appeared before the court at 10:30 p.m. yesterday morning. Wyant is charged with eleven counts of child abuse or neglect, tampering with a victim and tampering with evidence in a felony prosecution. Court documents allege that Wyant bound two childrens hands with zip-ties, taped them in cardboard boxes and choked them as part of their punishment routine. Authorities claim Wyant burned evidence of the crime once it was reported.
Wyant is scheduled to appear in Division III on April 3rd.
