The North Central Missouri Children’s Advocacy Center has received a $3,000 grant. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with Executive Director Verna Kelsey:
The Center applies annually for the funds from the Union Pacific Railroad Foundation. Kelsey said this year’s funds will be used for their general operations.
“We do provide services to abused children in 13 counties in rural north Missouri. And all of the services that we provide to the child and family, as well as to the investigators and to the community, are at no cost,” said Kelsey.
The Center has a yearly operating budget of about $165,000. They are scheduled to receive the money in June.
