CHILLICOTHE, MO – The authorization of an ordinance Monday night Chillicothe city officials formalizes an annual agreement with Livingston County toward mutual financial responsibility for streets that benefit both entities. The agreement contains a list of streets that would receive up to 50 thousand dollars of County funding, to be matched with the same amount in city funding. City Administrator, Darin Chappell indicated the agreement has no date of termination.

Other action on city streets included a discussion about discontinuing parking along the 1300 block of Locust at the intersection of Elmdale. Police Chief Jon Maples concluded the parking poses a traffic hazard for both lanes. Councilman Wayne Cunningham concurred with complaints from his Ward, saying traffic in that well-used portion of road was usually high-speed, and dangerous.  An ordinance is expected to be drafted by the next meeting.
