The Chillicothe City Council approved installation of a four-way stop at Monday night’s meeting. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with City Administrator Ike Holland:
“This is significant in that we had a bridge replacement, and the Route V State Highway Project will be complete here in the next week,” said Holland. “And we wanted to make sure that the safety is paramount. And we’re going to initiate a four-way stop where that did not exist previously.”
The signage will be installed at the intersection of Broadway and Polk.
“We feel like, with the new bridge, it will increase speeds on that road. And then also with the pending closing of the hospital in that area, the traffic patterns are definitely going to change. And so we thought that a four-way stop would be necessary.”
Crews begin installation Wednesday morning.
